At the initiative of the CEDRE Research Data Training and Support Center (an integral part of the France 2030 IDeAL project), Aix-Marseille Université, in partnership with the French Ministry of Higher Education and Research, is pleased to inform you of the first Assises Nationales des Données de la Research, to be held on November 26 and 27, 2024 in Marseille, at the Mucem.
The event will bring together industry, researchers, teacher-researchers, engineers and all those involved in managing, sharing and opening up research data.
The event will feature two highlights:
- The restitution of the working group on "Transparency and publicity of health research results".
- The Science Ouverte awards ceremony.
Open access to scientific publications, data and research software source codes is a political commitment, but above all a fundamental practice in our Research activities that should be encouraged. Open Science has made it possible to initiate the structuring, circulation and openness of research data, transforming it into a major lever for the creation of knowledge and democratic, scientific, political and economic values. Avoiding duplication of effort in data production and collection reduces Research costs and its digital and environmental footprint.
The French Ministry of Higher Education and Research and Aix Marseille Université via CEDRE (CEntre de Formation et de soutien aux Données de la REcherche) and its SCD (Service Commun de la Documentation) have joined forces to organize the "Assises Nationales des Données de la Research".
The aim will be to bring together all the national players involved in the management, sharing, opening up and reuse of Research data in the academic, service and industrial sectors.
The public will be made aware of the importance of research data in innovation, AI and research management, and of its implications in terms of research evaluation, openness, data reliability and security, and ethical and legal aspects. The question of future jobs based on Research data will also be addressed.
