Région Sud's Research call for proposals supports the development of inter-institutional and inter-disciplinary research projects, technology platform projects and exploratory research projects in strategic sectors and/or key technologies as defined by the Schéma régional de développement économique, d'innovation et d'internationalisation, and mainly in the priorities :

  • the Regional Climate Plan
  • Plan Sud for artificial intelligence,
  • Plan Sud Ingénieurs.

This call for projects comprises three sections:

  • the General section, designed to fund innovative projects involving several research laboratories, with an emphasis on inter-laboratory collaboration, equipment pooling and interdisciplinarity;
  • the Platform component, designed to support the creation or development of high-level technological platforms shared by regional research teams and, where appropriate, open to external partners, notably from industry;
  • Exploratory Research, designed to open up new areas of creativity. It concerns innovative projects based on ideas likely to open up new avenues of research.

Who can apply?

All public research organizations and higher education establishments based in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region (universities, EPST, EPIC, etc.), as well as engineering schools accredited by the Commission des Titres d'Ingénieurs (CTI), are eligible for regional support in the form of grants. Projects submitted under the "General" and "Platform" sections must closely involve several regional laboratories or research teams.

Applications open until March 10!
